Wood-plastic composite/WPC, is a new environmental friendly building material and has more perfect properties than wood or plastic only and can be used as an indeal substitute for wood or plastic. These properties cover small volume ratio, great strength-to-weight ratio, high resistance to moisture and recycled ability, and can be widely applied to many fields, such as automobile and truck parts, furniture components, building materials, packages and filters. Compounding wood and plastic separated from solid waste opens a new approach to decrease potential white pollution and can efficiently alleviate the tention situation of importing expensive automobile parts. Based on the characteristics of wood science and research, the search situation  at home and abroad, prospect and development trend of wood-plastic composites were mainly discussed in the this paper
